: Is it good to study Chinese for oral conversation by only studying the pinyin? Somehow, there is a rule on how to speak chinese words for instance when there are two third tones on one sentence, then you can pronouce the first one with either the second tone or natural. Like wo3 hen hao3, you can say wo2 hen hao3??? |

: I'm very glad to see your question again, I believe your a good learner. In my opinion, it is not enough to study Pinyin only. The oral Chinese has little difference between written Chinese, so if you want to master this language, you should learn its words, grammar and the slangs. Some words can be used both in written and spoken, but some can not. Also the grammar, in written, the sentences you have written must be in keeping with the grammar. In spoken, sometimes, if you express yourself clearly is ok. But the basic grammar could not be put away. If you want to know more about the Pinyin and grammar, you could book a time, then our tutors may explain them for you in detail.
